California is considered by many as the birthplace of the sport of powerlifting and still today is home to several USAPL National and IPF World Champions. We are honored that the USA Powerlifiting Masters Committee selected Palm Springs, CA to host this event. This contest should be monumental for two reasons. One- it will qualify athletes to participate in the highly anticipated 2005 IPF Masters World Powerlifiting Championships to be held in Capetown, South Africa. Two- this event will once again return powerlifting to its historical roots with California as home to a National Championship and an IPF-related contest.
